About Carri

Carri Levine was born and raised in New York and resides in New Jersey with her husband Michael and son Logan. Her daughter Haley lives and works in NYC. Carri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from SUNY College at Buffalo and a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. Carri is the author of Step by Step: Logan’s Leg Braces and plans to write more social stories for children. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to charities that benefit children. Carri is a proud member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

  • I enjoy painting by numbers, reading, writing and crafting.
  • I have a large collection of children’s books by other authors. . .over 800 books!!!
  • My best friend is my husband.
  • Flowers make me feel so happy!
  • The food I like most is sushi.
  • My favorite room in my house is my craft room.
  • I love monkeys, dogs and bluebirds.
  • Before becoming an author I was a director of a day care center and before that I was an elementary school teacher.
  • The beach is my happy place.
